Proposed parking restrictions for Uffington
Uffington Parish Council
Folliwing approval of planning application 24/04016/FUL for The Corbet Arms, Uffington, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, the following conditions have been put in place by Shropshire Planning:
Prior to commencement of the development, a scheme detailing a Traffic Regulation Order along the adjacent 'c' class highway located east of the site (Church Road), shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority. The scheme as is approved shall be fully implemented prior to first use of the development hereby approved. Reason: To prevent unrestricted parking along the adjacent highway which may impede visibility on vehicles exiting the site in the interest of highway safety and in accordance with Core Strategy Policy CS6.
Residents are invited to attend an extraordinary meeting on 7th April to share their views on the proposed parking restrictions. There are two options available:
Option 1: Double yellow lines throughout the village prohibiting parking at all times apart from allowing drivers to park for the purpose of loading/unloading. The extents of the double yellow lines can be increased or reduced to suit. Parking bays with no time limit on parking in them. No necessity to have the white parking bay markings if residents don’t want them. The extents of the parking bays could be reduced if necessary.
Option 2: Double yellow lines throughout the whole of the village which would then force visitors to the Corbett Arms to use the Village Hall car park if the pub car park is full.
Please see the attached plans for further information.
If you have any questions please email the Parish Clerk on [email protected] or come along to the meeting on Monday.
